On January 13, Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) was presented with a resolution unanimously passed by the DSA Board of Directors recognizing the work done on behalf of direct sellers in the United States House of Representatives.

The resolution was presented to her at Southwestern Advantage’s Annual Recruiting Seminar in Nashville, TN. Rep. Blackburn sold for Southwestern in college and understands the value direct selling brings to millions of Americans. She spoke about the ten lessons she learned while involved in direct selling and how attendees could apply that to build their successful business. Rep. Blackburn told attendees one of the things she learned and they will learn in their time selling is, “You will not fear hearing no—and you will not fear rejection. You get the no’s out of the way and you hear yes”
