At Some Point, You Made a Choice.

Why you chose direct selling matters.

Across America, millions have made that same decision, exercising the right to choose independence and build business on their own terms.

Today, as that right is being debated in Washington and in statehouses across the country, the leaders shaping those decisions need to hear from those who have chosen to exercise the right to be independent.

DSA is collecting stories from direct sellers like you to share directly with legislators and regulators.

Why did you choose independence and direct selling over traditional employment?

What has your decision to exercise that right made possible?

The following are suggestions for recording your video in an easy and casual style:

Use your smartphone. Film in vertical format
Find a white or simple background for the video.
Find good light. Facing a window is ideal.
Keep it steady. Prop your phone or hold it at eye level.
Speak naturally. Think “conversation with a friend.”
Avoid making income and lifestyle claims since these might raise compliance issues.
Stay between 30 and 45 seconds. Clear and simple is best.
Introduce yourself as an”Independent Direct Seller” plus use full name, city and state
No need to be perfect. Authenticity is the point.

I hereby grant the Direct Selling Association (DSA) permission to use my likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media (“photo”) in any and all of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration.

I understand and agree that all photos will become the property of DSA and will not be returned.
