THIRTY-ONE GIFTS HOSTS 125 DIRECT SELLING EXECUTIVES FOR DSA COMPANIES IN FOCUS SEMINAR

March 7, 2012
COLUMBUS, OHIO, March 7, 2012 – Thirty-One Gifts, designer and direct seller of accessories and organizational solutions, will welcome more than 125 fellow member executives of the Direct Selling Association to its Columbus headquarters on Wednesday, March 7, to kick off a two-day seminar about the driving forces behind the company’s growth and success.

Thirty-One’s founders, Cindy and Scott Monroe, will lead the seminar with a discussion on the company’s history, products and mission before attendees embark on a two-hour tour of Thirty-One’s facilities. The agenda also includes an exclusive opportunity for participants to ask Cindy and Scott their most pressing questions and a topic-specific breakout session, during which CEOs will learn more about the company’s products, marketing, infrastructure, key performance indicators and philanthropic efforts while other attendees will hear about Thirty-One’s products, marketing/branding, operations, sales, finance and information technology programs.

“We know first hand the positive life change and personal success that direct selling offers. We see it every day in our own Thirty-One Consultants,” said Cindy Monroe. “It is an honor to welcome many of our long-time mentors, industry peers and new friends into our home to share ideas and insights together."

“We appreciate the energy and hard work that Thirty-One Gifts has dedicated to this year’s Companies in Focus seminar and we’re excited by the opportunity to learn more about the inner workings of their company,” said DSA President Joseph Mariano. “There are few industries that can compare to the level of sharing of ideas and information that you find in direct selling. We’re pleased to be able to visit Ohio to learn more about this successful company, which has experienced rapid growth in recent years.”

About the Direct Selling Association

DSA is the national trade association of the leading firms that manufacture and distribute goods and services sold directly to customers. Among its more than 240 active and pending members are companies selling both via a party-plan method and in the traditional person-to-person style. In 2010, U.S. direct sales were more than $28.5 billion with nearly 16 million direct sellers nationwide. The vast majority are independent business people – micro-entrepreneurs – whose purpose is to sell the product/service of the company they voluntarily choose to represent. Approximately 90 percent of direct sellers operate their business part-time. For more information on direct selling, DSA and its Code of Ethics, please visit the DSA website at www.dsa.org.
