Direct Selling Association (DSA) is the national trade association for companies that market products and services directly to consumers through an independent, entrepreneurial salesforce. DSA serves to promote, protect and police the direct selling industry while helping direct selling companies and their independent salesforce become more successful.
We started in 1910 as the Agents Credit Association by a group of representatives in Binghamton, New York hoping to resolve issues with agents unable to collect payments. Today we provide members various services from educational materials, access to industry research, networking opportunities, professional development, and other support programs. We work with Congress, government agencies, consumer protection organizations and others on behalf of our nearly 130 member companies. One of the most pivotal roles we play is through our commitment to self-regulation and our Code of Ethics.
To protect, serve and promote the effectiveness of member companies and the independent business people they represent. To ensure member companies' products and the direct selling opportunity is conducted with the highest level of business ethics.
DSA Members are direct selling companies that have completed the application process and recommit annually to our Code of Ethics. Members receive full access to our slate of benefits and are given unique opportunities to be leaders in the industry. Yearly, 20% of the membership is subject to our Random Review process to verify their continued compliance with the Code of Ethics.
Pending Applicants are companies that have submitted an application for DSA membership. As part of a Pending Applicant company, executives will receive all the benefits of DSA membership but have not been granted official membership in the Association. Once a company successfully completes the membership process, DSA membership status is granted.

Supplier Exhibitors are Supplier companies that have secured a booth in the Exhibit Hall at our Annual Meeting for the current year.
Affinity Partnership affiliation is available to a select number of Suppliers that have partnered with DSA. Learn more.
Global Associates are companies with international operations that do not plan to enter the U.S. market. DSA Global Associates receive access to DSA digital resources, research, communications and events.
Subscribers are people looking to start a business or exploring the direct selling channel with the intent of starting operations. DSA Subscribers receive access to DSA digital resources, research, communications and events.
