Direct Selling Association Members Participate in Women’s Entrepreneurship Roundtable with U.S. Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA)

DSA members at the Women's Entrepreneurship Roundtable

(SPOKANE, WA) Salesforce members from dōTERRA, Isagenix International, Thirty-One Gifts and Trades of Hope participated in a Women’s Entrepreneurship Roundtable with United States Congresswoman, Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and the Direct Selling Association (DSA) on Friday, December 13, in Spokane, WA, at Greater Spokane, Inc. The roundtable discussion focused on getting women involved in entrepreneurship, and the importance of family, freedom and flexibility to operate independent businesses.

DSA President Joseph N. Mariano, said, “Today, 74.8 percent of direct sellers are women. We are proud to support women entrepreneurs in direct selling and have done so for more than a century. Foundational leaders like these women are critical to the direct selling industry and entrepreneurship roundtable events with their elective representatives provide the opportunity to share their insights and affect change.”

Rep. McMorris Rodgers said, “As a champion for entrepreneurs in Eastern Washington, I’m dedicated to supporting women who are excited about building a business and creating jobs. It was my pleasure to partner with the DSA on this roundtable to hear the stories of these women leaders. I applaud the Association for seeking out opportunities for their members to share their regulatory concerns and new ideas to help promote women in business.”


For more than a century, the Direct Selling Association (DSA) has served as the national trade association for companies that offer entrepreneurial opportunities to independent sellers to market and sell products and services, typically outside of a fixed retail establishment. In 2018, direct selling took place across the United States, generating $35.4 billion in retail sales. More than six million entrepreneurs in the U.S. are selling products or services through the direct selling channel, providing a personalized buying experience for more than 36.6 million customers.
