The Direct Selling Association Celebrates Women’s History Month by Hosting Entrepreneurship Roundtables with Members of U.S. Congress

March 29, 2022

(WASHINGTON D.C.) – As Women’s History Month ends, so does a busy first quarter of 2022 for the Direct Selling Association (DSA) hosting Women’s Entrepreneurship Roundtables with Members of Congress. Reps. Ashley Hinson (R-IA), Nancy Mace (R-SC), Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), and Victoria Spartz (R-IN) all participated in the virtual events to discuss the value of direct selling, the need for flexible work, and entrepreneurship opportunities with their constituents and communities.

Almost twenty women entrepreneurs from congressional districts across the country discussed the flexibility to work their businesses around their busy schedules and how the business had provided them growth personally and professionally.

Rep. Mullin said, “Direct selling has been a part of my life since childhood. I was impressed hearing from these women in my district on how the business has adapted over many years to be successful and I look forward to supporting that evolution as a Member of Congress.”

Rep. Mace said, “It was inspiring to connect and learn more about how these women entrepreneurs are building flexible businesses that positively impacts the Lowcountry.” Rep. Mace relates to being a small business owner and mother herself, as are the roundtable participants.

“We appreciate Reps. Hinson, Mace, Mullin and Spartz taking time out of their busy schedules to attend these events connecting salesforce with the people who represent their interests and make important policy decisions that impact their businesses. These forums provide a great opportunity for an open dialogue about entrepreneurship from our thriving businesses.” said DSA President Joseph N. Mariano.
